If you truly choose me

If you truly choose me, then break from your chain,

stop drowning your soul in comfort and pain.

You call me your fire, your hunger, your flame,

yet bury that heat in the weight of her name.

If you truly choose me, don’t starve me with lies,

don’t feed me with shadows, with half-open eyes.

Love is not promise that fades into air,

it’s flesh, it’s the risk, it’s the courage to dare.

If you truly choose me, then meet me in fire,

step into the blaze of your fiercest desire.

Let ashes consume what was never alive,

and walk through the ruin so we may survive.

If you truly choose me, then bleed if you must,

let kingdoms collapse, let the safe walls combust.

But if you can’t fall, can’t rise, can’t be true,

then don’t speak of love — for it dies without you.
